B&R expands its X20 hub range

B&R expands its X20 hub range B&R Industrial Automation has expanded its X20 hub system to include a new fibre optic module, increasing the distance between decentralised remote modules by up to 2,000 m.

Originally developed for industrial Ethernet use, the X20 system can be configured from a kit and is available with two RJ45 connections which can simply be lined up together or added to a bus controller, reports Arcweb.com.

The new model is a "major expansion", on the device as traditional copper wire only covers distances of 100 m.

No internal downgrading is used on the product, meaning the wire speed performance is not compromised making the fibre optic module "optimally suited" for use in the X20.

Last month, it was reported that homes and businesses in Bournemouth are to benefit from a new fibre optic network.

According to Fibrecity, the new fibre cablenetworking equipment will allow greater download speeds and a more reliable service.

Some 30 homes will be connected to the network, which is being installed in the city's waste water and sewage system, by March.ADNFCR-1186-ID-19011722-ADNFCR
