Siemon has launched a new hybrid patch cord range designed for transmitting video signals over twisted-pair network cabling.
The efficient, high-density solutions combine a TERA plug with an integrated F-type or PAL balun, which enable direct video equipment support.
Equipment includes CCTV cameras, DVD players, televisions and CATV receivers.
Four of the one-pair cords are able to interface with one TERA outlet and cable and is accepted by TIA and ISO.
Tony Veatch, TERA product manager at Siemon, said: "The video cords add a new dimension to the TERA system's flexibility.
"In environments like hotel rooms, video entertainment, data and phone service can be supported by a single outlet."
He said that in dense environments such as a financial trading floor, up to four live video market feeds could be supported, as well as four phones and two Ethernet ports usign just three TERA channels.
Mr Veatch added: "In this example, the limitations of cabling such as coax and category 5e and 6 UTP would force you to install ten individual channels to TERA's three."
