International cabling specialists Reichle & De-Massari (R&D) have unveiled a new range of Cat6 cables at the Ineltec trade show in Basel.

The new Cat6A leads are the latest products to be offered by R&D to be compliant with the IS/IEC standard.

According to the firm, they represent a key development in the copper cabling sector and are ideal for use in commercial situations where high performance is essential, such as in data centres and data storage facilities.

The company also introduced a new fibre optic splice outlet at the event, which is aimed at both residential and commercial buildings, such as hotels.

The new device provides up to four fibre optic lead connections and can be used in conjunction with copper-based network equipment.

R&D recently launched its September issue of Connections, which covered topics such as the benefits of Cat6A cabling and the use of fibre optic leads across the continent of Europe.
