A new generation of hybrid Tera to RJ patch cords has been developed by Siemon.
Robert Carlson, vice president of global marketing at Siemon, said: "Knowing the future application speeds like 40Gbits or even 100Gbits over copper will follow 10GBase-T, category 7/class FA Tera solutions are clearly the most future proof.
But he added: "Some have been reluctant to move to category 7A based on fear that the interface is not compatible with current electronics."
The new cords feature a standards-recognised Tera interface and a new version of Siemon's RJ45-style MC plug.
These enable owners to use it easily with their current networking equipment.
The cords are compatible with standards-based RJ45 outlets and meet both FCC68.500 and IEC 60603-7 specifications and come in a variety of different colours.
