A new RJ45 lead connector is the first to be offered without any need for installation tools, according to its producer.
Harting, the US-based data cable manufacturer, has unveiled its RJ Industrial 10G device, which allows easy connection to RJ45 patch leads thanks to its simple design and use of insulation displacement terminal technology.
Created with 10Gbps Ethernet cables of diameters between 4.5mm and 9mm in mind, the connector includes a newly-developed 'gland' for fixed connections and secure porting.
Harting claims to have catered for all customary Ethernet cables with the RJ45 connector, which has a rugged design and is industry standard for IP20 models.
The firm believes that the connector will be suitable for matching with next-generation RJ45 cable systems.
International network equipment manufacturer Dell recently dramatically expanded its range of 10Gbps Ethernet products, V3 recently reported.
The company has added switches, storage devices and even a new management tool to its unified networking system - which is aimed at data centre operators.
