Advanced services management and infrastructure security solutions provider CloudShield Technologies has unveiled a new packet processing operating system.
The environmentally-friendly system, called CPOS, will help to cut the cost of implementing high-traffic converged IP networks.
With CPOS, service providers can run several stand-alone applications at the same time on a CloudShield platform or blade.
This saves time, costs, space, power and resources through sharing applications across different departments.
It also features a virtual patch panel configuration environment which allows the smooth reconfiguration and installation or virtual appliances.
Matt Jones, CEO of CloudShield, said: "Traditionally, network services management and security problems have been treated one box or blade at a time. This drives up operating and capital costs and increases organizations' carbon footprints.
"In addition, it makes scaling in line with customerdemand more difficult and intensifies the burden of managing multiple boxes each with their unique management interfaces.
"The latest version of CPOS addresses all these issues, helping organizations to meet both their economic and environmental goals."
