Packt launches network attached storage book

Packt launches network attached storage bookPackt has announced the release of Learning FreeNAS, a book designed to aid understanding of Network Attached Storage (NAS).

The literature is written by Gary Sims, a freelance Linux/FreeBSD consultant, and the aim is to show users how to turn their PC into an NAS server as well as configure and troubleshoot the FreeNAS installation.

Consumers will be shown how to utilise technologies such as iSCSI, in addition to learning how to manage a FreeNAS server in different networking scenarios.

Administrators, meanwhile, can see how advanced system configurations such as encrypting discs and adding swap spaces are carried out.

In addition, users will learn how to implement a redundant array of independent discs which the firm claims will improve fault tolerance and drive performance on the server.

Packt publishes books focused on specific technologies and solutions and its first release was Mastering phpMyAdmin for Effective MySQL Management.

The company recently launched new literature from Michael Badger called Zenoss Core Network and System Monitoring.
