Electronics manufacturer LG is to launch what it claims is the first network attached storage device featuring a built-in Blu-ray drive.
The company said the N4B1, designed for small businesses and home users, has up to four terabytes of storage capacity and allows users to burn data on to Blu-ray discs.
Featuring three USB 2.0 ports and one e-SATA port, the device is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.
According to Product Reviews, the N4B1 "works on a streamlined web-based graphic user interface meant to make managing the storage easy without depending on any one operating system".
LG will unveil the new network attached storage device at the IFA 2008, which will take place in Berlin from August 29th to September 3rd.
IFA is the world's largest consumer electronics trade fair and this year's exhibitors will include Netgear, the global manufacturer of networking equipment such as routers and switches.
