Patton unveils IP Camera Extender

Patton Electronics has unveiled the world's first IP Camera Extender at IIPSEC 2008 in Coventry.

The company is a leader in business and carrier-class network access, VoIP equipment and connectivity.

The network-extension innovation, dubbed the Patton Model 1173, has been designed to deliver high quality streaming video over copper telephone wire at up to 50 Mbps.

Johnnie Grant, product manager, said: "The market trend is everything over Ethernet.

"Patton technology takes video-over-Ethernet faster and farther over voice-grade copper. The 1173 addresses an amazing breadth of applications."

In locations with installed Cat5, the 1173 enhances the Cat5 network by extending video past the 328 foot limit.
