Netgear releases new adaptors

Networking provider Netgear has released a new range of adaptors that can transform electrical power outlets into "high-speed internet and home network connections".

In a statement from the firm, it was revealed that the new Powerline HD Plus Ethernet Adapter Kit and Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit are now generally available.

Chris Geiser, the company's product line manager for Powerline devices, said that the new products have been designed due to increased demand for high-speed internet connectivity throughout the entire home.

He also claimed that the adaptors are fast, reliable and simple to install - even by the average consumer.

Powerline has the ability to use existing wiring supports, which allows customers to enjoy "bandwith intensive applications" such as online gaming and audio distribution in any room of the house, Mr Geiser continued.

Last month, Netgear released the first dual-band secure wireless N-solution for small firms.
