Power distribution units can provide a protective barrier against fluctuations in voltage, it has been claimed.
As well as reducing energy consumption, Siemens claims that a compact modular PDU can protect electrical appliances even if there are large variations in the voltage supply sent to them.
The news comes as Comms Express starts distributing a new data centre PDU that offers previously unavailable features and flexibility.
With a range of socket modules available which can be quickly and easily installed, the core product offers a U-shape housing two metres long which terminates with a mains connection lead.
The product allows users to mix and match socket styles in the same housing as well as offering the capability to change socket density in the rack to meet demand.
"Simply detach devices connected to the module which needs to be swapped, remove the original module and snap in the replacement," Comms Express states.
